    A hidden gem in Karangasem, Bali, Tenganan Village is one of the few Bali Aga villages that has managed to preserve its old customs to a high degree. Particularly in relation to pre-Majapahit Balinese civilization, this location possesses cultural traits. Since the discovery of an inscription containing the term "tenganan" in the eleventh century, Tenganan has been a traditional community. The splendor of art, culture, and centuries-old local knowledge are all combined in this village to create a singular experience. The fact that Tenganan is always packed with international visitors who wish to experience real traditional Balinese life firsthand, particularly during the months of June, July, and August, is not very surprising.

    Tenganan Village welcomes guests with a serene ambiance and breathtaking vistas, and it is open daily at 7 am. There is a voluntary ticket booth at the village entrance, visitor donations will support the preservation of this village, including the growth of its infrastructure, arts, and culture.

    Upon entering the village, guests will be welcomed by rows of traditional homes featuring unique bamboo and stone construction. Gringsing, a traditional cloth made with a rare double tie technique that takes years to finish, is one of Tenganan's main attractions. This cloth is a very precious cultural relic since it is made with a strong philosophy of balance and spiritual protection.

    This community is vibrant because of the weavers who labor hard in their halls. Every visit is an impromptu and surprising experience because the village's closing hours are flexible and follow the rhythm of the weavers' life. In addition, tourists can partake in customary rituals and take in the natural splendor of the area.
